Valley Ventures Hires New Executive Director

The Board of Directors of Valley Ventures, Inc. (VVI), a private non-profit business development group located in Weirton, WV.,announced today the hiring of Louis Stein to serve as Executive Director and Business Development Specialist for the organization.

Valley Ventures was formed by a diverse group with a common vision: To promote and sustain a vibrant entrepreneurial environment in the Upper Ohio Valley. Due to business closings and population exodus, Valley Ventures was conceived to help foster an economic environment that would aggressively encourage new business start-ups and expansions. The group’s board has a passion to see the region prosper and nurture the growth of businesses that will provide living wage jobs; jobs that will entice former residents to return and allow our talented young people in the area to remain. The counties, businesses, and entrepreneurs who will be served by Valley Ventures include Hancock, Brooke, and Ohio Counties in West Virginia and Jefferson County in Ohio

“Valley Ventures is a regionally recognized entrepreneurial based organization offering hands-on support for new business start-ups and existing business expansion”, said Mike Strean, Valley Ventures President. “We will also be providing businesses with technical assistance, financial resources, business education, and important business-to-business networking. Valley Ventures, founded by a diverse group of business owners and entrepreneurs from throughout the four county region, is a private non-profit corporation and will have a lot of flexibility in offering business owners in the region programs and opportunities which are not currently available elsewhere. The bottom line is that we will be helping many people in the Upper Ohio Valley start new businesses and expand existing businesses leading to much needed increases in economic development and job creation” added Strean.

“I am very excited to have been brought on board as the Business Development Specialist of this dynamic organization”, said Stein who is also its Executive Director. “I am also really looking forward to working with the caliber of people who are serving on the Valley Ventures board. Their passion and vision for this organization is outstanding, I am pleased to be serving the three counties in the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia and Jefferson in Ohio. The small business people and its citizens in this region are some of the most creative, hardworking, entrepreneurial people you will find anywhere,” Stein added.
