Mingo Pharmacy MINGO JUNCTION - When Frank Vostatek learned that residents throughout Mingo Junction had been left without a pharmacy, he knew something had to be done to help a community that had already lost so much. As a result, Mingo Pharmacy is preparing to open March 1. Although Vostatek is not a citizen of Mingo Junction, he is a lifelong resident of the Ohio Valley who has witnessed what can happen when a mill closes, the economy collapses and the mindset of people leads them to relocate from the area. "I am sick and tired of seeing good things and good people disappear from the Ohio Valley," Vostatek said. "When I found out the people of Mingo were losing a pharmacy, I said to myself, 'This is where I can make a difference. This is something I can do to prevent the people of this community from losing something they need and want.'" But it isn't just any pharmacy Vostatek wants to bring to the village. It's a business based on forming long-term relationships. It's about creating a bond with not only patients and customers but with the citizens themselves. And it's about bringing a family-type atmosphere to a place that needs it the most, he said. "I know that my success here is largely dependent upon how the people are treated when they walk through that door, and I want the opportunity to earn my future patients' trust as well as their business," he said. As the owner and pharmacist in charge, Vostatek said he will use his 15 years of experience, along with his intimate relationships with health care providers such as Dr. William Johns, to help the patrons of Mingo Pharmacy reach their desired outcomes regarding their health. Many of the ways in which the pharmacy plans to do so is by offering a friendly and knowledgeable staff, competitive pricing and free delivery to its customers. "We will be able to offer our customers everything the big box stores and chain pharmacies offer and more," Vostatek said, adding he welcomes the challenge. The new pharmacy plans to compete through its low pricing and customer service, as well as having free delivery and shorter wait times. "When the pharmacist is also the owner, there is much less red tape to cut through in order to get things done the way they should be done," Vostatek said. He acknowledged the Mingo Pharmacy, which will be located at 116 McLister Ave., would not be possible without the support he has received from his wife, children and parents, and he hopes to instill that same sense of family values into the community. "I am here for the entire Ohio Valley, but my first priority is to the residents of Mingo," he concluded
