To the editor:

As new business owners, my wife, Dawn, and I are extremely grateful for the opportunity to pursue our dream of many years.

That dream was realized when we opened a small business, Scaffidi's Pasta on Sunset Boulevard, a dream that would not have been possible without the efforts of Valley Ventures and, in particular, it's executive director, Lou Stein. With Stein's guidance and encouragement, we were able to manage the many obstacles and uncertainties that many start-up businesses face. He continues to work tirelessly to assist other small businesses in pursuit of their dreams, and at last count, Valley Ventures has aided in establishing more than 40 new businesses in our community.

Valley Ventures and Lou Stein continue to spread the message of economic growth for all to hear and, for the first time in a long time, many are beginning to listen.
